Why did you decide to join Fogo Azul? What was the catalyst?

Love of music, looking for community

Did you have drumming or musical experience before joining Fogo? If so, what?

Played the piano since 5. Middle school band that would play in hotel lobbies, played guitar, flute, congas, dumbs.

As a drummer/musician, what do you enjoy about being in this drumline?

The music, energy, parades, dances.

What do you enjoy most about the drum you play?

Intricate movements, off beat.

What attracted you to drumming?

Wanted to be a part of what I say at the Dyke March and friend who was in the band aided.

What are your top 2-3 favorite Fogo performances you’ve played in?

Halloween parade, Sundays on Fifth Ave

What has been the most interesting place you’ve been to because of Fogo?

Being part of the parade

What -if anything, surprises you about your experience in playing with Fogo?

It’s easy with practice, but not as easy as it looks

What do your friends and/or family think or say about you drumming with Fogo?

My parents really enjoy following the instagram page to catch the performance. My friends have attended some events and really enjoy it.

What have you learned about yourself being in this drumline?

How much i missed playing music and being part of a band.

What other hobbies or creative outlets do you have in your life?

Soccer, biking

What would you tell someone who is thinking of joining? Why should they join?

Do it! Its fun and exciting.
